TKIL Industries Pvt Ltd (formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India Pvt Ltd), a leading name in industrial engineering and manufacturing, has entered into a strategic alliance with 2G Energy International GmbH, a German pioneer in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants and gas engine technology. This collaboration marks a significant step in bringing 100% hydrogen-ready CHP systems to India, strengthening 2G Energy’s presence in the region while empowering TKIL Industries to offer advanced, sustainable power generation solutions that support India’s clean energy ambitions.
With efficiencies reaching up to 98% and the ability to operate on multiple fuels—including biogas, natural gas, flare gas, syngas, and pure hydrogen—2G’s CHP systems are engineered to enable large-scale industrial decarbonization. By utilizing waste heat generated during power production, these systems drastically cut energy losses and are well-suited for sectors like cement, steel, sugar, and paper, which have high thermal and electrical energy demands.
Commenting on the partnership, Vivek Bhatia, MD & CEO, TKIL Industries, said, “At TKIL Industries, we are dedicated to supporting industries in their transition toward cleaner and more efficient energy solutions. Our collaboration with 2G Energy represents a major stride in introducing proven hydrogen-ready CHP technology to India. This partnership not only strengthens our technological capabilities but also contributes meaningfully to India’s decarbonization efforts, offering industries a balanced path to sustainability and productivity.” The announcement comes as India advances steadily toward its renewable energy goal of 500 GW from non-fossil sources by 2030, with installed capacity already crossing 234 GW—underscoring the growing need for efficient, low-carbon energy systems.
