French electronics brand Thomson is aiming to capture 10% of the online washing machine market in India by 2024. After launching its washing machine range in 2023, the company plans to expand into the front-loading fully-automatic segment by 2025. To support this, Thomson has already invested ₹200 crore in a manufacturing plant and plans to increase investment as part of its growth strategy.

Avneet Singh Marwah, CEO of Super Plastronics Pvt. Ltd. (SPPL), Thomson’s exclusive licensee in India, highlighted the company’s rapid growth, noting a year-on-year sales increase of over 100%. “We are expanding our range with new, advanced models and plan to further invest in the development of state-of-the-art washing machines,” Marwah said.

Thomson currently offers 25 washing machine models and plans to introduce 30 more by 2025. In partnership with Flipkart, the brand will launch its fully-automatic machines during the upcoming Big Billion Day sale, with semi-automatic models starting at ₹7,490 and fully-automatic models from ₹12,999.

Looking ahead, Thomson will focus on front-load and larger-capacity fully-automatic machines, exiting the 6.5-kg semi-automatic category to align with shifting consumer preferences towards more advanced models. Additionally, the company has plans to start exporting its washing machines.

Earlier, the company also invested ₹50 crore in an audio speaker manufacturing facility in Noida and plans to release 30 new speaker models in the next six months.
