The Body Shop, a globally recognized brand in cosmetics, skincare and personal care, has chosen Centric PLM™ to modernize its product development processes and create a unified digital framework across its international operations. The initiative is aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing collaboration and accelerating innovation as the company advances its growth strategy.
The implementation will begin with project management capabilities, before expanding into areas such as artwork management, quality control, compliance and sourcing. The rollout will span key markets including the United Kingdom, Asia, India and the Middle East, establishing a consistent and integrated platform to support product development activities worldwide.
Founded in 1976 in Brighton, England, by Dame Anita Roddick, The Body Shop has long been known for its commitment to ethical beauty. The brand offers a wide portfolio of skincare, body care, hair care and makeup products made with natural and fairly traded ingredients sourced globally. Its guiding purpose—to promote a fairer and more sustainable world—continues to shape its operations, campaigns and sourcing practices, with a strong focus on social responsibility, sustainability and activism.
Following its acquisition by investment group Auréa in 2024, The Body Shop has entered a new phase of transformation focused on operational excellence and sustainable expansion. With a presence in more than 80 countries and nearly 2,000 stores worldwide, the company is investing in modern systems to support its evolving business needs. Upgrading its product lifecycle management infrastructure has been identified as a key priority in this journey.
To support this transformation, The Body Shop conducted a comprehensive evaluation of scalable PLM solutions. The objective was to replace fragmented tools, spreadsheets and manual workflows with a single, integrated platform capable of streamlining product development, improving cost transparency and strengthening supplier collaboration. The selected solution is expected to enhance visibility across the product lifecycle while enabling faster and more coordinated decision-making.
Centric PLM will serve as a centralized source of product data, enabling better governance and improved speed to market. The platform is designed to integrate with the company’s broader enterprise systems, including ERP and supply chain infrastructure, providing greater control over cost, quality, compliance and sustainability metrics. It also offers the scalability required to support future innovation and long-term growth.
Hitesh Amin, Chief Technology and Transformation Officer at The Body Shop, said the adoption of Centric PLM represents a strategic investment in building a connected and efficient product development environment. He noted that the platform will enable stronger visibility into product data and costs, while supporting better coordination across global teams and functions.
Fabrice Canonge, Chief Executive Officer of Centric Software, highlighted the growing importance of digital transformation in the beauty industry. He stated that implementing a unified PLM platform will help The Body Shop strengthen its leadership in ethical beauty by enabling a more agile, data-driven approach to innovation and global expansion.
