Telawne Power Equipments has expanded its manufacturing and supply-chain infrastructure at Ambernath, Maharashtra, by adding 61,837 sq ft of facilities. The expansion is aimed at increasing production capacity, improving material management and supporting the company’s growing customer base in India and overseas markets.
The new infrastructure comprises a 43,000 sq ft Centralised Warehouse and an 18,837 sq ft additional Production Bay. Both facilities have been inaugurated as part of the company’s broader capacity expansion programme. The new facilities supplement Telawne’s existing manufacturing operations across Rabale, Taloja and Ambernath. The additional space is expected to provide greater flexibility in production planning while strengthening the company’s ability to handle larger and more complex projects.
The Centralised Warehouse has been developed to improve the storage and movement of raw materials and critical components. Better inventory management is expected to support smoother production schedules and improve the availability of materials required for manufacturing.
The Additional Production Bay will provide dedicated space for larger and customised manufacturing requirements. It is designed to support improved production layouts and workflows, allowing the company to increase manufacturing efficiency while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
Rakesh Telawne, Managing Director, Telawne Power Equipments, said the expansion is aimed at building the company’s capacity to respond faster to changing market requirements. He added that the additional infrastructure will support larger projects and strengthen Telawne’s ability to serve customers across domestic and international markets.
The expansion comes at a time when India’s power infrastructure sector is undergoing significant changes. Rising electricity demand, greater electrification, renewable energy development and investments in transmission and distribution networks are driving the need for additional power infrastructure.
The growth of renewable energy is also increasing demand for flexible transmission and distribution systems capable of integrating different sources of generation while maintaining grid stability. At the same time, the expansion of data centres and digital infrastructure is creating additional requirements for reliable power supply and supporting infrastructure.
Telawne said the expanded manufacturing footprint will help it address opportunities across power transmission and distribution, renewable energy, industrial projects, data centre infrastructure and other critical infrastructure applications.
The Ambernath expansion is part of the company’s wider growth strategy, with investments focused on increasing manufacturing capacity and improving operational efficiency. The combination of additional production space, stronger warehouse capabilities and streamlined material movement is expected to improve delivery readiness as project volumes increase.
Established in 1987, Telawne Power Equipments manufactures transformers and power solutions for the power, renewable energy, industrial and infrastructure sectors. The company has more than 38 years of industry experience and has completed over 9,000 installations across 63 countries.
Telawne has an installed manufacturing capacity of 10,000 MVA per year and approximately 170,000 sq ft of manufacturing space. Its product portfolio includes EHV, power and distribution transformers, dry-type transformers, specialised transformers and substations.
With manufacturing facilities in Rabale, Taloja and Ambernath and a workforce of around 300 employees, Telawne serves customers across domestic and international markets.
