Panasonic Life Solutions India has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to India and highlighted Uttar Pradesh as an important market for its future growth plans. Yoshiyuki Kato, CEO and Managing Director, Panasonic Life Solutions India, shared the company’s outlook during the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026.
Speaking at the CXO roundtable, Mr Kato said Uttar Pradesh has an important role to play in Panasonic’s future growth journey in India. The company is evaluating opportunities to expand its contribution to the state across distribution, services and smart infrastructure.
Panasonic’s presence in India is supported by a strong local manufacturing network. The company operates seven manufacturing facilities across the country, producing hundreds of millions of electrical products every year for domestic and international markets. Products made in India are also exported to markets across South Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
“As Uttar Pradesh strengthens its manufacturing ecosystem, Panasonic will continue to evaluate opportunities that could support its operations across central and eastern India over the long term,” said Mr Kato. The company is also focusing on sustainability as part of its long-term business strategy. Through its Panasonic GREEN IMPACT initiative, Panasonic aims to achieve net-zero carbon dioxide emissions across all its operating companies globally by FY2030.
Its Indian manufacturing operations are contributing to this objective. All seven manufacturing facilities operated by the company in India have rooftop solar power systems. Together, these installations have a combined capacity of 5.2 MW. During FY2025-26, the solar systems helped reduce approximately 5,500 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
Panasonic also sees opportunities to support India’s infrastructure development through its capabilities in electrical products, solar solutions, smart energy systems and intelligent infrastructure. The company expects these capabilities to have applications across buildings, factories and rapidly developing urban areas.
Panasonic entered India in 1972 and has maintained a presence in the country for more than five decades. Following its acquisition of Anchor in 2007, the company has continued to strengthen its manufacturing operations and invest in local talent and employment.
The company said its focus remains on expanding its local capabilities while supporting India’s manufacturing and sustainability objectives. Uttar Pradesh’s growing industrial base, infrastructure development and expanding demand for technology-enabled solutions are expected to create further opportunities for collaboration.
