Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has renewed and expanded its long-standing engagement with Weatherford International, a global oilfield services provider, under a new five-year agreement. This extended collaboration will focus on leveraging advanced automation and artificial intelligence to enhance operations across key business areas such as finance, supply chain, and human resources.

Through this strategic extension, TCS aims to deploy AI-enabled platforms to streamline Weatherford’s financial operations, reduce costs, and improve scalability. The partnership also includes introducing process improvements and advisory services to simplify workflows and support future-ready business models. TCS’ involvement will now include transformation consulting, further aligning Weatherford’s operations with its digital growth strategy.

Over the past seven years, TCS has played a key role in driving efficiencies at Weatherford, resulting in a significant reduction—approximately 50%—in total cost of ownership across core operational domains. The success of these past initiatives laid the groundwork for the expanded agreement, which continues to emphasize outcome-based delivery and long-term business agility.

Weatherford International’s President and CEO, Girish Saligram, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating that integrating intelligent technologies is central to maintaining competitiveness in a rapidly evolving energy sector. He noted that the continued engagement with TCS will support Weatherford in scaling operations, enhancing productivity, and achieving sustainable growth.

TCS will continue delivering business process services and now broaden its role to include enterprise transformation guidance. With deep domain knowledge and a wide portfolio of digital offerings—spanning cloud, cybersecurity, ERP, and consulting—TCS is set to help Weatherford navigate the next phase of its modernization journey. The collaboration reinforces TCS’ presence in the global energy services space, where it already works with four of the top five oilfield service companies worldwide.
