Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered into a strategic partnership with Porsche AG to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across the automotive company’s mobility value chain. The partnership is supported by a five-year strategic agreement under which TCS will work with Porsche across manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer experience.
As part of the collaboration, TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche. The centre will focus on turning AI concepts into secure, scalable solutions that can improve operational efficiency, resilience and innovation across the company’s products and business processes.
The partnership will also see TCS, through its subsidiary, acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting business. The proposed acquisition remains subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
MHP brings extensive experience in automotive and industrial consulting, business transformation, artificial intelligence, SAP, manufacturing digitalisation and connected mobility. Its expertise will complement TCS’ global technology capabilities, engineering strength and experience in AI-led transformation.
K Krithivasan, CEO and Managing Director, TCS, said the partnership would bring together the companies’ complementary strengths to accelerate AI adoption across Porsche’s value chain. “AI, software and data are reshaping the automotive industry. This partnership combines TCS’ capabilities in AI, engineering and technology with MHP’s strong automotive consulting expertise,” he said. Dr. Michael Leiters, CEO, Porsche AG, said the agreement would allow Porsche to focus more strongly on its core automotive business while gaining TCS as a strategic technology partner.
The collaboration will centre on three key areas. TCS will support Porsche in scaling AI applications across intelligent manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer experience. The five-year agreement will provide a long-term framework for delivering technology-led business outcomes. The proposed MHP acquisition will strengthen TCS’ presence in Germany and the wider European automotive and industrial markets.
The AI Mobility Centre of Excellence will combine Porsche’s automotive expertise and product knowledge with its’ capabilities in AI, product engineering and digital transformation. The initiative is expected to support the development of software-defined mobility solutions and improve decision-making across the automotive lifecycle. The transaction and partnership are subject to required approvals. Deutsche Bank AG is acting as financial advisor and Noerr as legal counsel to TCS.
