Tata Steel has reported its highest-ever annual crude steel production of 23.48 million tonnes for the financial year 2026, reflecting an 8% year-on-year increase driven primarily by capacity ramp-up at its Kalinganagar facility. This growth was partially offset by a planned shutdown for relining at the Jamshedpur plant. In the fourth quarter alone, production reached 6.25 million tonnes, marking a 15% year-on-year rise.

The company also achieved record delivery volumes of 22.53 million tonnes during the year, with domestic deliveries surpassing 20 million tonnes for the first time. This milestone underscores Tata Steel’s strong market presence and deep customer relationships across sectors. Quarterly deliveries also reached an all-time high, growing 10% year-on-year in Q4.

Key business segments demonstrated robust performance. The Automotive and Special Products division recorded its highest-ever annual volumes of approximately 3.4 million tonnes, supported by increased demand for high-value products. The Branded Products and Retail segment achieved volumes of around 7.3 million tonnes, with flagship brands continuing to drive growth.

The Industrial Products and Projects segment delivered approximately 7.2 million tonnes, benefiting from expansion in engineering applications and increased participation in sectors such as defence and shipbuilding. Downstream businesses—including tubes, tinplate, and coated products—reported double-digit growth, further strengthening the company’s value-added portfolio. Tata Steel’s digital platforms also saw significant traction, with e-commerce channels generating a gross merchandise value of ₹9,360 crore, reflecting strong adoption and a 161% increase year-on-year.

International operations showed mixed performance. Tata Steel Netherlands recorded stable production and improved quarterly deliveries, while Tata Steel UK continued transitioning operations with progress on its electric arc furnace project. Tata Steel Thailand reported improved deliveries driven by domestic demand.

With a global crude steel capacity of 35 million tonnes per annum and operations across multiple geographies, Tata Steel remains one of the world’s most diversified steel producers. The company continues to advance its sustainability goals, including its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, while driving digital transformation across its manufacturing operations. Backed by strong operational performance and strategic investments, Tata Steel is well positioned to support infrastructure growth and evolving industrial demand in India and globally.
