Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has marked an extraordinary achievement in Q1 FY26, solidifying its position as India’s leading rooftop solar provider. TPREL successfully installed 45,589 rooftop solar systems, demonstrating an impressive 416% year-over-year growth from 8,838 installations in Q1 FY25. This achievement further emphasizes Tata Power’s dedication to advancing India’s clean energy future.
With these Q1 FY26 additions, TPREL’s cumulative rooftop solar installations have surpassed 204,000, reaching a total capacity of more than 3.4 GW. This milestone not only reflects rapid growth but also highlights Tata Power’s significant contribution to India’s renewable energy transformation.
TPREL’s achievements reinforce its pivotal role in supporting India’s decentralized energy transition and the national target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. Through increasing rooftop solar adoption, TPREL is directly contributing to the government’s efforts under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and the ongoing Ghar Ghar Solar campaign.
