Suzlon Group has announced a new wind energy order of approximately 100 MW from Gas Authority of India Limited, marking the sixth project between the two organisations and reinforcing Suzlon’s growing presence in the public sector segment. The project will support the decarbonisation of GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical facility in Nandurbar, Maharashtra, contributing to cleaner industrial operations. This also represents Suzlon’s fourth public sector order in the current financial year, reflecting increasing demand for renewable energy solutions among government-backed enterprises.

As part of the contract, Suzlon will supply and install 47 wind turbine generators, each with a capacity of 2.1 MW. The company will oversee the entire project lifecycle, including equipment supply, installation, commissioning and post-project operations and maintenance services.

The order further strengthens Suzlon’s footprint in Maharashtra, where it has already installed over 2.2 GW of wind energy capacity and holds a significant share of the market. The state continues to emerge as a key hub for renewable energy development in India.

Suzlon’s integrated capabilities across design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance have enabled it to build long-term relationships with clients across sectors. The company has been working with GAIL for over 15 years, executing projects across multiple states including Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The latest project marks the expansion of this partnership into Maharashtra.

The company has also seen a shift in its order mix, with public sector undertakings and commercial and industrial clients accounting for a significant portion of its overall order book. This trend reflects the increasing adoption of renewable energy solutions across diverse industries.

Headquartered in Pune, Suzlon operates as a global renewable energy solutions provider with installations across 17 countries. The company has developed a strong manufacturing and research base, supported by facilities in India and international R&D centres.

With a total installed wind energy capacity of over 21 GW globally, Suzlon continues to play a key role in advancing clean energy adoption. The latest order highlights the company’s ongoing contribution to India’s energy transition while supporting industrial decarbonisation efforts through scalable wind power solutions.
