Suzlon, a leading renewable energy solutions provider, announced on Wednesday its plan to fully electrify its vehicular fleet by 2035. This new commitment comes shortly after the company pledged to power all of its facilities with 100% renewable energy by 2030.

As part of this initiative, Suzlon has joined the global EV100 program, led by the Climate Group, which brings together major companies committed to accelerating the shift to electric vehicles (EVs) and making electric transport the new norm by 2030. By transitioning its entire fleet to electric vehicles, Suzlon aims to reduce carbon emissions, lower fuel consumption, and contribute to India’s pursuit of Net Zero emissions.

The company will electrify a total of 655 vehicles across its operations, including both owned and leased vehicles within the 3.5T and 3.5–7.5T categories. This step is expected to significantly lower Suzlon’s Scope 1 emissions—those originating directly from its operations, primarily from its vehicular fleet. Suzlon’s broader decarbonisation strategy includes a goal to achieve net-zero Scope 1 emissions by 2035.

With this commitment, Suzlon becomes the first Indian renewable energy company to join the EV100 initiative, reinforcing its position as a climate leader in the renewable energy sector. The move aligns with Suzlon’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into its business practices, following its earlier pledge to reduce its carbon footprint through renewable energy and other eco-friendly initiatives.

Suzlon Group is a global leader in renewable energy solutions, with over 21 GW of wind energy capacity installed across 17 countries. The company’s portfolio includes advanced 2.x MW and 3.x MW wind turbines, driving forward its mission of delivering sustainable energy solutions globally.
