Sunsure Energy has entered into three long-term solar open-access power purchase agreements with Wonder Cement, marking another phase in their ongoing collaboration to expand the use of renewable energy in industrial operations. Under these agreements, Sunsure Energy has begun supplying clean power to Wonder Cement’s manufacturing units in Dhule, Maharashtra, and Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The electricity is being sourced from Sunsure’s solar assets, including a 150 MWp facility in Solapur and a 49 MWp plant in Augasi.

The partnership is expected to deliver a combined capacity of 30 MWp, enabling Wonder Cement to significantly reduce its dependence on conventional grid electricity. At the Dhule facility, renewable energy is projected to meet approximately 67 percent of total power consumption, while the Aligarh unit is expected to achieve around 52 percent substitution through solar energy.

This transition is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by roughly 33,000 metric tonnes annually, equivalent to the environmental benefit of planting approximately 1.5 million trees. The initiative aligns with Wonder Cement’s broader sustainability goals and its commitment to integrating cleaner energy sources into core operations.

Kiran Patil, Managing Director of Wonder Cement, stated that sustainability remains central to the company’s operational philosophy. He highlighted that the continued collaboration with Sunsure Energy reflects confidence in its execution capabilities and its ability to deliver reliable renewable solutions across multiple locations.

Shashank Sharma, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Sunsure Energy, noted that repeat agreements demonstrate the strength of the partnership and the growing demand for scalable clean energy solutions in the industrial sector. He added that the cement industry plays a critical role in India’s economic growth, making its transition to renewable energy particularly significant.

Founded in 2014, Sunsure Energy focuses on delivering round-the-clock renewable power solutions through a combination of solar, wind, and energy storage systems. The company supports businesses in achieving high levels of renewable energy adoption through long-term agreements tailored to their operational needs.

Wonder Cement, established in 2012, operates integrated manufacturing facilities and multiple grinding units across India. With a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and sustainability, the company continues to expand its capacity while adopting environmentally responsible practices.
