Sunita Tools Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a leading Polish defence company to jointly develop, manufacture and market advanced defence technologies, including Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) drones, loitering ammunition and smart drone ammunition. The partnership marks a significant step in the company’s expansion into the defence and aerospace sector while supporting India’s vision of self-reliance in defence manufacturing.Under the agreement, the two companies plan to establish a joint venture in India, with Sunita Tools expected to hold the majority stake, subject to the signing of definitive agreements and the receipt of all required regulatory approvals.

The proposed collaboration will combine the Polish company’s expertise in defence technology, product design and research with Sunita Tools’ manufacturing capabilities, industrial infrastructure and market presence. The partners aim to jointly develop advanced defence products for domestic and international markets while strengthening indigenous manufacturing capabilities.

As part of the arrangement, Sunita Tools will serve as the development, manufacturing, marketing and distribution partner for the agreed products across India, the GCC countries and the Indian subcontinent. The company will also have the opportunity to market these products in other international regions based on mutual agreement between the partners.

The collaboration will focus on the research, design, development and production of next-generation defence systems to meet the growing demand for advanced unmanned aerial platforms and precision-guided ammunition. The companies also intend to explore opportunities to participate in defence procurement programmes and strategic partnerships within India’s defence ecosystem, in accordance with applicable regulations and government policies.

The MoU will remain valid for five years unless terminated earlier under mutually agreed terms. The agreement currently represents the intent of both parties to collaborate and does not create any immediate financial impact.
