Sumeet SSG BVG Maharashtra EMS Pvt Ltd has entered into a 10-year concession agreement with the Public Health Department of the Government of Maharashtra to implement a comprehensive emergency medical services system across the state. The initiative, titled ‘Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) 108 Ambulance Program,’ represents an investment of approximately ₹1,600 crore. Under the terms of the agreement, a fleet of 1,756 ambulances equipped with advanced life-saving technology will be deployed to provide critical care during the crucial golden hour of emergencies. The rollout of this program is scheduled to occur in five phases, beginning in November 2025.

Each ambulance will be equipped with a suite of advanced technologies, including Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs), tablet PCs, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), GPS systems, caller location tracking, CCTV cameras, and TRIAGE capabilities. The vehicles will also feature integrated platforms for Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Vehicle Tracking and Management Systems (VTMS), and automated patient arrival notifications, ensuring streamlined coordination and rapid response.

The MEMS 108 fleet will include Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances, neonatal care units, and first responder motorcycles. In addition, the program will incorporate water-based emergency services with the deployment of sea and river boat ambulances. Future plans also include the introduction of drone-based medical support and air ambulance services using helicopters, further extending the program’s reach and responsiveness.

This large-scale initiative is expected to redefine the standard of emergency healthcare delivery in India. It combines cutting-edge medical and communication technologies with efficient service protocols to deliver high-quality emergency response. The project is positioned as a model for public-private partnerships in the healthcare sector, aiming to deliver both sustainability and operational excellence.
