SUMEET SSG has entered into a strategic partnership with Pinnacle Industries Limited to design and deliver a large-scale fleet of ambulances for Maharashtra’s Emergency Medical Services (MEMS 108) project, a key initiative aimed at strengthening emergency healthcare delivery across the state. The collaboration will support the deployment of 1,756 ambulances, including 255 Advanced Life Support (ALS), 1,274 Basic Life Support (BLS), and 36 neonatal units. The fleet will be rolled out across all 36 districts of Maharashtra, enhancing access to timely and efficient emergency medical care in both urban and rural regions.

Sumeet SSG BVG Maharashtra EMS, a joint venture involving Sumeet Group, BVG India Ltd., and SSG Transporte Sanitario of Spain, will oversee the deployment and operations of the fleet under a 10-year Public Private Partnership model structured as Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (PPP-DBFOT).

Pinnacle Industries will serve as the ambulance conversion partner, responsible for designing and building specialized medical vehicles tailored for emergency response. The ambulances will be equipped with medical-grade interiors, modular storage systems, integrated oxygen supply units, suction systems, and advanced electrical configurations. Safety and compliance remain central to the design, with all vehicles meeting AIS-125 standards.

The vehicles will also incorporate ergonomic seating for medical personnel, patient-friendly layouts, and durable structures suitable for varied road conditions across Maharashtra. Compatibility with global medical equipment standards has been integrated to ensure high-quality patient care.

This initiative is expected to significantly strengthen pre-hospital care by improving response times, enabling better on-site treatment, and ensuring seamless patient transport. The deployment aligns with broader efforts to modernize healthcare infrastructure and improve emergency readiness.

Both organizations emphasized the importance of engineering reliability, operational efficiency, and patient-focused design in delivering this large-scale project. The partnership represents a major step in building a modern and scalable emergency medical response system in India, combining domestic manufacturing expertise with global best practices in medical mobility solutions.
