Sterling Tools Limited, a leading Indian automotive component manufacturer and market leader in Motor Control Units, announced that its subsidiary Sterling Gtake E-Mobility Limited (SGEM) has entered into Technology License and Supply agreements with Landworld Technology Co Ltd, China. Through this partnership, SGEM will locally manufacture On-Board Chargers (OBCs), DC/DC Converters, and Multi-Function Units—which integrate OBCs, DC/DC Converters, and Power Distribution Units (PDUs)—at its EV campus in Faridabad. These components are critical for the electrification of both passenger and commercial vehicles.

The collaboration is projected to generate approximately ₹450 crore in business by FY 2030, tapping into a fast-growing market segment expected to reach ₹3,000 crore. By producing these advanced systems in India, Sterling Gtake will reduce import dependence, support Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India, and enable local suppliers to access advanced EV technologies.

Anil Aggarwal, Chairman, Sterling Tools Limited, said “This partnership deepens our role in India’s EV ecosystem. We are expanding beyond Motor Control Units and Powertrain platforms to address customer demand for consolidated, multifunction EV sub-systems. Our goal is to offer both standalone and integrated solutions while providing strong technical and application support to accelerate EV adoption in India.”

On-board chargers enable EVs to connect to AC power sources and safely manage charging, while DC/DC converters regulate high-voltage battery packs to power auxiliary systems. Adding these technologies complements SGEM’s ambition to build comprehensive EV Power Electronics expertise for the Indian auto industry.

Lin Chen, Vice General Manager, Landworld Technology Co Ltd, added “India’s EV sector presents tremendous growth opportunities. Partnering with Sterling Gtake allows us to bring proven global expertise in OBCs and DC/DC converters to Indian customers, delivering high-quality solutions that support the nation’s goals of self-reliance and sustainability.” The initiative will strengthen India’s EV supply chain, expand local manufacturing capabilities, and contribute to long-term industrial resilience.
