Spartan Scientific, a division of Canfield Industries, has introduced the 25RV rocker-style diaphragm valve for applications involving sensitive or aggressive fluids. The valve is designed for use in medical, chemical and food industry applications where fluid isolation, accurate control and reduced maintenance are important.

The 25RV uses a diaphragm-based design that separates the process fluid from internal moving components. This arrangement is intended to prevent the media from coming into contact with internal metal parts, helping reduce wear and the risk of particle contamination associated with conventional solenoid valve designs.

According to Spartan Scientific, the isolation design supports leak-tight operation and can extend service life. The valve is intended for low-flow, high-precision control and has a 1.5-millimetre orifice. Its construction uses polymer and elastomer materials, with customisable elastomer options available to accommodate different fluids.

The 25RV has a three-way configuration with one inlet and two outlets. It can also be adapted for two-way operation, giving equipment manufacturers flexibility when designing fluid-control systems. Its compact, modular construction allows the valve to be integrated into manifold assemblies. Mounting options include inline and manifold configurations, enabling use in different equipment layouts. The modular design is also intended to simplify maintenance and reduce downtime for operators.

Potential applications include medical diagnostic equipment, chemical dosing systems and washdown environments. In medical diagnostics, fluid-handling components must manage small volumes while maintaining separation between the process fluid and internal mechanisms. Chemical dosing systems may require materials suited to particular media, while washdown applications place additional demands on equipment durability and maintenance.

Todd Harmon, Vice President of Canfield Industries, said applications such as medical diagnostics, chemical dosing and washdown operations require valves that combine durability with protection for sensitive media. He said the rocker-style valve was developed to meet these requirements while providing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with a compact, customisable and cost-effective option.

The company says the valve’s diaphragm isolation and material choices make it suitable for systems where fluid compatibility and consistent operation are important considerations. Its mounting flexibility and modular construction are intended to help manufacturers incorporate the component into new equipment designs or existing fluid-control assemblies.

Spartan Scientific is part of Canfield Industries, which supplies components for industrial and specialised applications. The introduction of the 25RV adds a diaphragm-based option to its valve range for manufacturers seeking controlled fluid handling in medical, chemical and food-related environments.
