Skyways Air Services Limited, an air freight forwarding and integrated logistics solutions provider, has strengthened its position in India’s air exports market, increasing its market share to 6.3% in Q2 FY27 from 6.2% in the preceding quarter. The company also improved its global ranking to 42nd from 44th, according to chargeable weight data released by WorldACD Market Data.
The consecutive quarterly gains reflect the company’s operational execution and capacity management amid global supply chain disruptions, fluctuating aviation fuel costs and changing geopolitical trade routes. Skyways Air Services has continued to build its market position through long-term capacity agreements with leading international carriers, including Emirates SkyCargo, Lufthansa, Saudi Cargo, Turkish Air Cargo and Air India Cargo.
Growth during the quarter was supported by demand from high-value and time-sensitive cargo segments, including temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, automotive components and electronics. Outbound shipments across key transatlantic, European and Middle Eastern trade corridors also contributed to performance, reflecting the company’s focus on sectors and routes requiring reliable freight capacity and timely delivery.
Technology remains central to the company’s growth strategy. Under its Skyways 2.0 initiative, the company is accelerating digital adoption through platforms such as ASAP, SLS 100X, Cargo Dash and Skart-Edge. These solutions are intended to improve connectivity across its air and ocean freight, express logistics, customs clearance, road transportation and warehousing operations, supporting a more integrated approach to cross-border supply chain management.
Commenting on the performance, Yashpal Sharma, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman and Managing Director of Skyways Air Services Limited, said the company’s continued leadership in India and improved global ranking reflected customer confidence and the commitment of its operating teams. He added that achieving a 6.3% share of India’s air exports market amid an uncertain macroeconomic environment demonstrated the resilience of the company’s asset-light business model and its ability to secure capacity when customers need it.
Sharma said the company was focused on expanding its network while building a technology-enabled logistics platform to support Indian enterprises as manufacturing and merchandise exports grow. Through Skyways 2.0 and its digital platforms, the company aims to strengthen digital integration and provide more seamless international logistics services.
The company is also advancing its international expansion strategy, with plans to establish a stronger presence across high-growth Asia-Pacific trade gateways. Its roadmap includes dedicated operations and joint ventures in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and mainland China. By combining carrier partnerships, specialised cargo capabilities, digital solutions and international expansion, Skyways Air Services aims to strengthen its competitive position and support the evolving logistics requirements of Indian exporters.
