SMS group will present its latest technologies and digital solutions for the aluminium industry at ALUMINIUM 2026, scheduled to be held from October 6 to 8 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company will exhibit at Hall 5, Stand A34, highlighting solutions designed to help aluminium producers improve productivity, reduce production costs and lower carbon emissions across the entire manufacturing value chain.

At the exhibition, SMS group will showcase technologies covering every stage of aluminium production, including logistics, powder metallurgy, casting, forging, extrusion, flat rolling and strip processing. These capabilities are supported by the company’s automation, digitalisation and lifecycle services, enabling customers to improve plant performance while meeting sustainability goals.

Visitors will gain insights into the latest developments in advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and energy-efficient production systems that help manufacturers produce high-quality aluminium products with greater operational efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

One of the key attractions at the event will be presentations by SMS experts covering major projects, industry trends and technological developments. A major highlight will be the ASAŞ Alüminyum project, which features Europe’s largest aluminium extrusion press.

SMS group supplied the complete extrusion line for the project, including the press feed line, induction heating furnaces from IAS, the runout system from OMAV and the 150-meganewton direct tube extrusion press. The installation enables the production of exceptionally large aluminium profiles while delivering high productivity and precision. The facility also incorporates advanced digital technologies that improve process transparency, production quality and operational efficiency throughout the plant.

The company will also showcase Nexcast®, its next-generation aluminium minimill that combines the advantages of continuous casting with the capability to manufacture premium aluminium alloys. Commercially operational since August 2025, Nexcast® offers a compact and integrated production process that helps manufacturers lower production costs while maintaining product quality and flexibility.

Commenting on the technology, Michael Schäfer, Executive Vice President, Flat Products, SMS group, said, “Nexcast® demonstrates how manufacturers can achieve higher efficiency without compromising production capability. It combines advanced technology with sustainable manufacturing and supports the industry’s transition toward low-carbon aluminium production. Together with our development partner Golden Aluminum, we look forward to sharing the operating experience and discussing the future of aluminium manufacturing with customers and industry stakeholders.”
