Škoda Auto has introduced a range of free 3D-printable vehicle accessories through its profile on Printables.com, allowing customers to download digital designs and print practical additions for their cars at home. The company says it is the first carmaker to offer such accessories through a dedicated platform.
The initiative extends Škoda’s Simply Clever approach, which focuses on making everyday vehicle use more convenient. The accessories have been developed by the company’s innovation incubator, engineering teams and designers. The collection covers current and discontinued Škoda models.
Customers can download the files, adapt them to their requirements and produce the accessories using their own 3D printers. The range includes cupholders, storage boxes, cable management tools, coin boxes, USB cable and cap hooks for seat-back pockets, phone brackets and top tether hooks.
Many of the accessories are designed to fit existing vehicle storage areas without requiring modifications to the car. The approach also allows users to produce items locally without the tooling, inventory and lead times associated with conventional manufacturing.
The programme follows positive feedback from the Škoda community on previously released 3D vehicle models. The company is using responses and suggestions posted on Printables.com to identify ideas for future accessories and guide further development. Škoda has also introduced accessories specifically designed for its Epiq and Peaq models. These include cupholder covers, a large storage-box tray, specialised inserts and holders, and an organiser for the lower console.
For the Peaq, the range includes a clip-on cupholder designed for its foldable table. The accessory can accommodate both standard-sized and larger cups. These additions respond to requests from members of the Škoda community. The company’s 3D-printable collection is intended to serve owners of a broad range of vehicles, including models no longer in production. By making the designs available online at no cost, Škoda aims to give customers greater flexibility in adapting their vehicles to individual needs.
The initiative also provides a way for the company to gather direct feedback on practical vehicle accessories before deciding which ideas to develop further. Users can share their experiences and suggestions on the online platform, helping the design and engineering teams assess demand for future products. The top tether hook has been among the best-performing accessories in the collection so far, according to the company.
Škoda’s move into downloadable vehicle accessories combines its focus on everyday usability with digital design and consumer 3D printing. The company plans to continue developing the range based on customer feedback and the needs of owners across its current and older vehicle models.
