Mahindra Launches XUV 3XO ZNG CNG SUV at ₹9.99 Lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has launched the XUV 3XO ZNG, its first mainstream CNG passenger vehicle, at a starting price of ₹9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The new model combines the running-cost benefits of CNG with the performance, features and practicality of a compact SUV.

The XUV 3XO ZNG is powered by a 1.2-litre mStallion TCMPFi turbocharged engine that produces 82 kW of power and 200 Nm of torque in both CNG and petrol modes. It has a certified fuel efficiency of 24.7 km/kg and is designed to offer customers an alternative to conventional petrol-powered SUVs without compromising on performance.

Mahindra said the vehicle delivers 200 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm, which it describes as the highest in India’s CNG passenger vehicle segment. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 4.9 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds in CNG mode.

The vehicle supports switching between CNG and petrol, with an automatic change to petrol when the CNG supply runs low. Average and instantaneous fuel economy displays provide information on consumption, while a fast-filling valve is designed to make refuelling more convenient.

The CNG system uses a twin-cylinder arrangement beneath the luggage area, retaining a flat loading floor and 270 litres of usable boot space. The spare wheel is mounted under the vehicle. Features across the range include a 26.03 cm HD touchscreen, cruise control, rear air-conditioning vents and a 60:40 split rear seat from the entry variant. Higher-specification features include twin 26.03 cm screens, Skyroof™, Dolby Atmos audio, black leatherette seats, a dual-tone roof and R16 black alloy wheels.

Safety equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts as standard across all variants. An integrated gas-leak detection system can identify a leak and automatically switch the vehicle to petrol mode. The model is based on the XUV 3XO, which has received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection.

Dr Velusamy R, President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said the XUV 3XO ZNG was developed for customers seeking the space, technology, safety and driving experience of an SUV alongside the lower running costs of CNG. The XUV 3XO has recorded cumulative sales of more than 2.5 lakh units in under two-and-a-half years, according to Mahindra. Test drives for the XUV 3XO ZNG will begin on October 15, 2026.
