Simplex Castings Limited, a leading Indian precision metallurgy company, has secured a significant order valued at ₹13.02 crore from Thyssenkrupp Group, a global engineering company known for its expertise in coke plant technologies. The order includes the supply of 80 sets of zero-leakage coke oven doors, 80 sets of high-grade pusher side doors, along with 10 sets of mechanical plungers and specialized helical springs. These components are critical for maintaining efficiency and environmental compliance in coke production facilities used in steel manufacturing.

Simplex Castings has built a strong reputation for its emission-free coke oven door technology. Its zero-leakage doors are designed to deliver sealing performance significantly higher than conventional systems, helping reduce harmful emissions while improving operational efficiency. The design also offers a longer service life and simplified maintenance through cartridge-type units, which allow for quicker replacements and reduced downtime.

This technology has been developed through advanced engineering and collaboration with international expertise, including Japanese design inputs. As a result, the company has established itself as a key supplier for environmentally compliant coke production systems across global markets.

The new order strengthens Simplex Castings’ near-term order book and supports its growth trajectory within the steel and thermal sectors. It also reinforces the company’s ability to meet the demands of large international clients with high-quality, reliable solutions.

Coke oven batteries play a central role in steel production. These large industrial systems consist of multiple interconnected ovens that convert metallurgical coal into coke through high-temperature carbonization. Operating at temperatures between 1,000 and 1,200 degrees Celsius, the process takes several hours and produces coke that is essential for blast furnace operations.

In addition to coke production, these systems enable the recovery of valuable byproducts such as coal gas, ammonia, and tar. These materials can be refined and reused for energy or sold, contributing to overall efficiency and sustainability. Continuous operation is another defining feature, with multiple ovens functioning in sequence to ensure uninterrupted production at large scales.

Within this context, the performance of coke oven doors is critical. Effective sealing prevents gas leakage, reduces emissions, and ensures compliance with environmental regulations. Simplex Castings’ zero-leakage doors are designed to meet these requirements while supporting long-term operational stability.

The partnership with Thyssenkrupp highlights the company’s manufacturing capabilities and engineering strength. It also reflects growing global demand for cleaner and more efficient technologies in heavy industries such as steel production.

Simplex Castings operates with well-equipped manufacturing facilities, including a cast iron foundry and heavy engineering and fabrication units. These are supported by advanced machining capabilities, a central machine shop with CNC systems, and a dedicated design division using modern engineering tools. The company also undertakes turnkey projects through its EPC division, further expanding its service offerings.

With this latest order, Simplex Castings continues to strengthen its position in international markets while contributing to more sustainable industrial practices. Further details regarding execution timelines are expected to be announced in due course.
