The collaboration brings together SiMa.ai’s artificial intelligence platform and Mistral’s expertise in drone product engineering to deliver an integrated reference design that enables faster development of intelligent, autonomous unmanned aerial systems. The companies are showcasing the joint solution at the Drone International Expo 2026 being held in New Delhi from June 24 to 26.
The partnership is focused on addressing the growing demand for advanced drone capabilities across defense, industrial inspection, infrastructure monitoring, agriculture, surveillance and public safety applications. By combining AI-driven decision-making with optimized hardware architecture, the reference platform is designed to help drone manufacturers and system integrators accelerate product development while reducing engineering complexity.
At the center of the collaboration is SiMa.ai’s recently introduced Palette Neat software environment, developed to support agentic AI applications. Integrated with the company’s Modalix machine learning system-on-chip technology, the platform enables intelligent processing of data from multiple sensors while supporting autonomous operations directly on the device.
The jointly developed reference design has been engineered to meet stringent size, weight and power requirements that are critical for drone deployments. Operating within a low-power envelope, the solution supports advanced capabilities including sensor fusion, obstacle detection, navigation in GPS-denied environments, autonomous mission execution and real-time AI inference without relying on cloud connectivity.
