FY26 marked a transformative period for Shreeji Shipping as it strengthened its position in India’s maritime logistics sector through significant investments in fleet capacity and operational infrastructure. The Company expanded its owned fleet across multiple asset categories, reinforcing its asset-backed business model and enhancing its ability to meet growing demand for cargo handling and coastal transportation services.
A major milestone during the year was the receipt of approval under the Tonnage Tax Scheme, providing a strong platform for long-term operational and tax efficiency. The Company also entered the coastal cargo movement segment, broadening its service portfolio and creating new growth opportunities within India’s expanding coastal shipping ecosystem.
Shreeji Shipping currently operates one of India’s largest midstream lighterage fleets, including 63 self-propelled barges, along with mini bulk carriers, tugboats and floating cranes. To further strengthen capacity, the Company has three additional mini bulk carriers under construction and scheduled for delivery during the first half of FY27. Two of these vessels will have all-weather operational capabilities, doubling the Company’s all-weather fleet and supporting uninterrupted services during the monsoon season.
Commenting on the performance, the management stated, “FY26 has been a landmark year for the Company. Alongside strong financial growth, we have taken significant strategic steps that position us for long-term expansion. Investments in fleet modernization, entry into coastal shipping and the commencement of new operational projects will strengthen our market presence and support sustained value creation.”
With floating crane operations at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata expected to commence during FY27 and additional vessels joining the fleet, Shreeji Shipping remains focused on expanding its geographic reach, enhancing operational capabilities and supporting India’s growing maritime logistics requirements.
