Sagepoint Logistics has added 60 heavy-duty trucks powered by Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and equipped with the Cummins X15N engine, doubling its low-carbon fleet to 120 vehicles. Sagepoint Logistics is a dedicated truckload carrier focused on sustainable freight transportation. The fleet expansion comes as the company sees increased demand from shippers for transportation solutions that combine lower carbon emissions with reliable service and predictable operating costs.
The new trucks will operate on RNG supplied by Sagepoint Energy, the company’s energy business and RNG producer. The integrated model connects fuel production with freight transportation, giving Sagepoint control over the fuel used across its fleet. According to the company, using domestically produced RNG reduces exposure to fluctuations in global oil markets while providing customers with greater visibility into transportation fuel costs. The fleet is being expanded in response to customer demand, with the company also planning to enter new markets and serve additional shippers across the US.
Aaron Johnson, CEO, Sagepoint Energy, said, “The demand for low-carbon transportation is accelerating, and our customers want a partner that can scale with them. Doubling our fleet to 120 trucks is how we answer that call. Shippers no longer have to choose between sustainability and reliable, cost-predictable shipping, and this expansion is just the next step in scaling that solution across the market.”
The fleet expansion is being led by Curt Reitz, Vice President of Logistics, who has more than 30 years of experience in the transportation sector and has worked on the expansion of clean-fuel fleets. “We’re seeing strong demand from customers for reliable, sustainable transportation solutions, and that demand is driving our expansion,” said Mr Reitz. “Every additional truck means more capacity for our customers and more opportunities for professional drivers who want to be part of a cleaner, more forward-looking operation.”
