Rhetan TMT to Set Up 2 MW Solar Power Plant for Captive Use

Rhetan TMT Ltd, a manufacturer of steel products, has announced plans to establish a 2 MW solar power plant at its manufacturing facility in Kadi, Gujarat. The move is part of the company’s strategy to cut energy costs and transition to greener sources of power.

The company’s board is set to meet on Friday to discuss and approve the solar power project. This initiative aligns with Rhetan TMT’s commitment to sustainable operations and reducing its carbon footprint.

The company operates a rolling mill in Kadi (Mehsana), Gujarat, producing TMT Bars and Round Bars mainly for the construction sector. In line with its solar power plans, the company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

Under the MoU, the Gujarat government has pledged to support the company in securing necessary permissions and approvals from relevant state departments. Earlier this year, Rhetan TMT moved to the main board of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) from the SME platform. The company reported a revenue of Rs 19.34 crore for the June quarter.

By setting up this solar plant, Rhetan TMT not only aims to reduce its energy costs but also contribute to the broader push for renewable energy within India’s industrial sector.
