Red Bud Industries has installed a heavy-gauge cut-to-length line equipped with a T3 stretcher leveler at McNeilus Steel Inc’s facility in Morrison, Tennessee, USA. The new system is designed to process thicker and thinner materials using two operating modes. It can run in start-stop mode for thicker materials and in looping mode for thinner material, allowing McNeilus Steel to improve productivity and throughput during the stretching process.

The line includes a range of equipment for material handling, straightening, levelling, cutting and stacking. Its main components include a dual-stub uncoiler, peeler, Pop Top Precision Straightener, rotating-brush dust collector system and threading system. A 40-foot T3 stretcher leveler forms a central part of the installation. The system also features a servo roll feed, a variable-rake shear with quick-change blades, a 40-foot heavy-gauge drop stacker and floor rollout conveyors.

Red Bud’s Pop Top Precision Straightener is designed to simplify cleaning and maintenance. Its top crown and work rolls can be opened at the push of a button, giving operators access to components during routine servicing. The prime shear is fitted with a quick-change blade arrangement intended to reduce downtime during blade changes. The stretcher leveler also includes a powered gripper extraction system.

The combination of start-stop and looping operating modes gives the line flexibility to handle different material thicknesses. The start-stop mode supports the processing of thicker materials, while looping mode is intended for thinner material. According to the companies, this arrangement can increase productivity and throughput while stretching. The installation expands McNeilus Steel’s processing equipment at its Morrison facility. The supplied line combines material feeding, straightening, dust collection, stretching, cutting and stacking equipment in one production system.

Red Bud Industries manufactures metal processing equipment, including cut-to-length lines and associated systems. The company’s equipment is designed for applications involving sheet and coil processing. McNeilus Steel Inc operates the Tennessee facility where the new line has been installed. The companies did not provide details on the line’s production capacity, installation cost or commissioning schedule.

The equipment supplied for the project includes the dual-stub uncoiler, peeler, Pop Top Precision Straightener, rotating-brush dust collector system, threading system, 40-foot T3 stretcher leveler, servo roll feed, variable-rake shear with quick-change blades, 40-foot heavy-gauge drop stacker and floor rollout conveyors. Red Bud Industries supplies metal processing equipment, including cut-to-length lines and related systems. Its products are used in operations that process metal coil and sheet materials.
