Platinum Tooling Technologies Inc is expanding its range of tooling solutions for Swiss-style CNC lathes, supporting manufacturers involved in high-precision and high-volume production. The company offers a broad portfolio of live tooling, static tooling, angle heads and speed multipliers designed for Swiss-type machine tools. Its solutions are aimed at applications where high spindle speeds, precision and stable cutting performance are essential.

Among the products available are Heimatec live tools and angle heads, along with speed multipliers offering gear ratios of 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4. Depending on the configuration, the speed multipliers can reach speeds of up to 48,000 rpm. The company also stocks live and static tools and speeders for Swiss machines. Its Swiss-type tooling uses high-performance spindle bearing technology and precision-ground gear components to support accurate machining.

The tooling portfolio includes straight and 90-degree heads, Woodruff key cutters, thread-whirling tools, multiple-spindle heads and adapters. These solutions are designed to provide manufacturers with greater flexibility when machining small and complex components.

The need for higher-speed tooling has increased with the growth of Swiss-style machining in industries such as medical devices and other precision manufacturing sectors. As components become smaller, manufacturers increasingly require smaller cutting tools that can operate at higher speeds while maintaining accuracy and surface quality.

Platinum Tooling provides Heimatec speeders compatible with Citizen, Tsugami and Star Swiss-type machines. These systems are designed to improve cutting stability and precision while allowing manufacturers to achieve the spindle speeds required for demanding applications.

The company also offers Hommel and Keller Quick knurling and marking tools. Cut and form knurling tools can be used for applications including hand tools, barbells and dental instruments, while marking tools support part identification and production traceability.

The marking systems can be used to apply part numbers, logos and other manufacturing information. This provides manufacturers with a practical method of identifying components during production and later stages of the supply chain. Platinum Tooling also supplies components such as collets and guide bushings for a range of Swiss machine brands. These products are available under the Tecnicrafts and Dunner brands and are intended to support different machining and material-processing requirements.

With manufacturers facing growing pressure to improve productivity while maintaining tight tolerances, advanced Swiss-type tooling has become an important part of the machining process. Platinum Tooling’s portfolio combines high-speed tooling, precision components and workholding-related solutions to help manufacturers optimise Swiss CNC operations.
