Ducon Infratechnologies Ltd (NSE: DUCON), an industrial technology and engineering company, has secured a major end-to-end contract for the supply and commissioning of a Forced Cooling Network (FCN) system for potlines at one of India’s largest single-location aluminium smelters.

The order strengthens Ducon’s presence in the aluminium industry and adds to its growing opportunities in material handling and environmental control systems. The company will undertake the complete execution of the FCN project, covering manufacturing, testing, packaging, transportation, installation, commissioning and performance testing.

Ducon will also provide specialised technical manpower during the installation and commissioning stages to ensure the system meets the required performance parameters. The FCN system is an important part of the infrastructure supporting aluminium smelter operations. The latest order reflects the company’s ability to provide integrated engineering solutions for large-scale industrial facilities and strengthens its position as demand for aluminium production infrastructure increases.

India’s aluminium industry is entering a period of significant expansion, driven by rising domestic consumption and growing requirements from infrastructure, power, electric mobility, renewable energy and other industrial sectors. National aluminium demand is projected to approach 8.5 million tonnes by 2030.

Ducon said the expansion in the aluminium sector is creating opportunities for companies providing material handling, process systems and environmental control technologies. The company is evaluating additional opportunities across the aluminium and alumina value chain, particularly in regions witnessing major industrial investments.

Aron Govil, Chairman and Managing Director of Ducon Infratechnologies, said, “As a market leader in material handling systems for the alumina industry, Ducon is strategically placed to capitalize on unprecedented regional investments in Odisha, India’s aluminium capital.”

The company also expects opportunities from India’s planned expansion of thermal power generation. Approximately 33,000 MW of additional coal-based thermal power capacity is expected to be added in the coming years. Such facilities require large-scale fly ash handling systems and environmental management technologies.

Ducon’s portfolio includes air pollution control systems, including flue gas desulphurisation and scrubber solutions, as well as heavy bulk material handling systems. The company provides engineering, procurement and construction capabilities covering design, manufacturing, supply, installation and lifecycle support.

Management expects the thermal power and non-ferrous metals sectors to generate significant opportunities over the next five years. Ducon believes its proprietary technologies, integrated EPC capabilities and experience in large industrial projects provide a strong base to participate in this growth.

Headquartered in Thane, Maharashtra, Ducon Infratechnologies provides technology and engineering solutions for environmental control, clean energy, infrastructure and process industries. Its capabilities span industrial air pollution control, clean fossil fuel technologies and bulk material handling systems.
