Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL), a leading cleantech and decarbonisation solutions company, has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Immersive Technology and Entrepreneurship Labs (ITEL) Foundation, Chennai. The partnership aims to accelerate research, innovation, and commercialisation in bio-energy, waste management, and green technologies.

The collaboration establishes a structured framework for joint research and development programs, consultancy assignments, training initiatives, and funding proposals. Both organisations will work together to develop scalable, commercially viable solutions that address emerging challenges in environmental sustainability and the circular economy.

As part of the agreement, the partners will undertake joint research initiatives in bioenergy, waste management, and green chemicals, while also collaborating on national and international funding opportunities, including projects supported by agencies such as BIRAC and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). The MoU also focuses on building future-ready talent through skill development programs, internships, and industry-oriented training.

A key feature of the partnership is access to ORSL’s advanced Research & Innovation Centre (RIC) in Navi Mumbai. This facility will support joint experimentation, pilot validation, and the transition of technologies from laboratory development to real-world deployment. The collaboration is expected to strengthen ORSL’s efforts to commercialise research outputs and develop intellectual property in high-impact sustainability domains.

ORSL continues to expand its R&D capabilities in areas such as compressed biogas (CBG), carbon capture and utilisation (CCU), green chemicals, and circular economy solutions. With prior support from the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), the company has built a strong pipeline of next-generation technologies and is actively scaling them for commercial application.

The MoU with ITEL Foundation is part of ORSL’s broader strategy to build a collaborative innovation ecosystem. The company has established partnerships with leading academic institutions, including IIT BHU, IIT Roorkee, and other research organisations, along with industry stakeholders in sustainable energy and materials. These collaborations enable faster validation and deployment of climate-focused technologies.

This development marks an important step in ORSL’s evolution into an integrated cleantech and green chemicals enterprise. By combining research strength with industry partnerships, the company is creating new opportunities in technology licensing, sustainable products, and environmental services.

Founded in 2008, ORSL specialises in waste management and resource recovery solutions across the entire value chain. Its operations span project development, product innovation, consulting services, and operations and maintenance, supporting sustainable growth and environmental stewardship across sectors.
