Ola Electric Mobility Limited has announced a major price reduction for its flagship electric motorcycle, the Ola Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh, powered by its indigenously developed 4680 Bharat Cell. The move reflects significant cost efficiencies achieved through scaling production and deep vertical integration.

The Roadster X+ 9.1 kWh will now be priced at ₹1,29,999, down from its earlier price of ₹1,89,999. The revised pricing will be available for a limited number of units during specific purchase windows, marking a shift from continuous open sales to a time-bound availability model.

The first purchase window is scheduled to open on April 3 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with additional windows to be announced based on production capacity. This approach comes in response to strong demand for the motorcycle, which offers a claimed range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge.

According to the company, the surge in demand has significantly outpaced current supply capabilities. Interest in the model has grown rapidly, particularly during its #EndICEAge campaign, which has contributed to a sharp increase in consumer traction.

An Ola Electric spokesperson stated that the company is now able to pass on cost benefits directly to customers as production of its 4680 Bharat Cell scales up. The battery, designed and manufactured entirely in India, is central to the company’s strategy of reducing dependence on imports while improving performance and affordability.

Over the past year, Ola Electric has accelerated expansion of its Gigafactory, with production capacity moving toward 6 GWh. This expansion is expected to further reduce costs and strengthen the domestic battery ecosystem through increased localization and manufacturing efficiency.

The announcement follows a strong recovery in business performance for the company. In March, Ola Electric recorded more than 150 percent month-on-month growth in vehicle registrations, reaching over 10,000 units. Daily orders also exceeded 1,000 units in the final week of the month, reflecting renewed momentum in demand.

With operations spanning manufacturing, battery innovation, and direct-to-consumer distribution, Ola Electric continues to invest in advancing electric mobility in India. Its integrated approach, supported by R&D centers in India and globally, positions the company to play a key role in reducing reliance on fossil fuels and accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation.
