Musashi Auto Parts India Pvt Ltd has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Bhago Mobility Solutions Private Limited to supply electric powertrain systems for the fixed-battery variant of Bhago Mobility’s upcoming three-wheeler passenger vehicle platform, Bhago Bhim™. The Bhago Bhim™ platform is being developed in both battery-swapping and fixed-battery configurations. Under the agreement, Musashi will supply 3W e-Axles for the fixed-battery version of the passenger three-wheeler. Production is planned to begin in 2027, with manufacturing supported by Musashi’s Bengaluru plant.

The e-Axle will provide an integrated electric powertrain solution for three-wheeler applications, with the companies targeting improvements in vehicle performance, efficiency and reliability. The partnership will also support the localisation of electric mobility technologies, with the e-Axles manufactured in India. The agreement strengthens Musashi India’s role as a supplier of electric powertrain systems for the three-wheeler segment. It also supports Bhago Mobility’s plans to develop and manufacture electric three-wheelers in India.

“This LOI with Bhago Mobility marks another important step in Musashi’s journey to strengthen its presence as an electric powertrain system supplier in India. With electrification already accounting for more than 60% of India’s three-wheeler retail sales in 2025, the segment is at the forefront of India’s transition to electric mobility,” said Naoya Nishimura, Chief Executive Officer, Musashi India & Africa Region.

“Leveraging Japanese technology, quality and trusted engineering expertise, our locally manufactured e-Axle solution is designed to support OEMs in delivering efficient, reliable and scalable electric vehicles. We look forward to building a strong and long-term relationship with Bhago Mobility,” he added.

Aditya Goyal, Founder & Managing Director, Bhago Mobility Solutions Private Limited, said the company’s long association with Musashi and its confidence in the supplier’s engineering capabilities were important factors behind the partnership. “Bhago Bhim™ is being engineered to set a new benchmark for passenger three-wheelers in India — in ride quality, safety and total cost of ownership for the driver-owner. Musashi’s locally manufactured e-Axle brings that engineering to the heart of the vehicle,” Goyal said.

The companies also plan to explore additional Bhago Bhim™ configurations, including cargo and battery-swapping variants, as well as future collaborations involving other mobility systems. The Bhago Bhim™ platform is being developed on a connected, IoT-native architecture with integrated telematics. The system is designed to support predictive diagnostics, maintenance scheduling and remote software updates by monitoring powertrain, battery and vehicle-health parameters.
