Mindgrove Technologies has entered into a strategic partnership with Prama India Private Limited to accelerate the commercial deployment of India-designed semiconductor technology in video surveillance systems. The collaboration marks one of the country’s largest commercial integrations of domestically designed silicon, bringing indigenous semiconductor innovation into high-volume production for mission-critical security applications.
The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will see Prama integrate Mindgrove’s proprietary Vision System-on-Chip (SoC) across its range of CCTV cameras and advanced video surveillance products. The Vision SoC, developed with support from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme, represents Mindgrove’s second semiconductor product and is designed to deliver high-performance imaging and processing capabilities for intelligent security solutions.
Beyond chipset deployment, the agreement also covers joint product development, engineering collaboration and certification support. Mindgrove will work closely with Prama to ensure the surveillance solutions meet domestic and international regulatory, quality and compliance standards, enabling wider commercial adoption across multiple markets.
The collaboration marks a significant milestone for Mindgrove as it transitions from product development and validation to large-scale commercialization. It also demonstrates the growing maturity of India’s fabless semiconductor ecosystem by enabling locally designed chips to power commercial products deployed in critical infrastructure.
Speaking on the partnership, Shashwath TR, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mindgrove Technologies, said large-scale commercial deployment is a defining milestone for Indian semiconductor startups. He noted that the collaboration validates the company’s Vision SoC as a production-ready platform capable of delivering the performance, reliability and scalability required for real-world surveillance applications.
Ashish P Dhakan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Prama India, said the partnership brings together semiconductor innovation, artificial intelligence and trusted digital infrastructure to advance the next generation of intelligent security solutions. He added that combining Mindgrove’s chip design expertise with Prama’s experience in surveillance technologies, product engineering and large-scale deployments would help develop globally competitive solutions designed and manufactured in India.
The collaboration comes at a time when India is intensifying efforts to strengthen domestic semiconductor capabilities and reduce dependence on imported chipsets for strategic sectors such as security and surveillance. By integrating Indian-designed silicon into commercial products, the partnership is expected to contribute to supply chain resilience while supporting the country’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and semiconductor manufacturing initiatives.
With its Vision SoC entering sustained commercial deployment, Mindgrove plans to expand its portfolio of indigenous semiconductor solutions across additional application areas. The company expects its growing range of processors to support Indian and international equipment manufacturers in developing secure, high-performance electronic systems powered by locally designed silicon.
