CH Robinson, a global leader in Lean AI supply chains, has completed the acquisition of DeSpir Logistics™, a specialised provider of secure transportation solutions and cargo escort services for mission-critical, high-value freight across North America. The acquisition strengthens CH Robinson’s ability to support customers managing sensitive shipments where security, compliance, visibility and operational precision are essential.

The addition of DeSpir expands CH Robinson’s premium logistics capabilities across industries including healthcare, life sciences, aerospace, data centres and high-value retail. These sectors increasingly require advanced transportation solutions as supply chains become more complex and the risks associated with cargo theft, temperature excursions and shipment disruptions continue to grow.

DeSpir brings specialised expertise in managing high-value, high-risk and temperature-controlled shipments through a combination of advanced technology, rigorous processes and a highly vetted carrier network. Its capabilities include secure transportation planning, cargo monitoring and risk management solutions designed to provide greater control throughout the shipment lifecycle.

“This acquisition strengthens how we help customers move freight that requires an additional level of protection,” said Adam McDonough, Vice President of Committed Assets at CH Robinson. “Whether transporting temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, critical technology infrastructure or other high-value goods, customers need confidence that their shipments are protected through every stage of the journey.”

Following the acquisition, CH Robinson will integrate DeSpir’s specialised capabilities with its global logistics network, technology platform and Lean AI approach. The combination is expected to enhance shipment visibility, improve risk detection and enable more scalable solutions for customers with complex transportation requirements.

DeSpir’s closed-loop carrier network further strengthens CH Robinson’s security-focused transportation offering. Drivers within the network undergo detailed vetting, maintain required certifications and participate in ongoing audits to ensure compliance with stringent operational standards. This approach provides a higher level of control compared with traditional transportation networks designed primarily for volume and flexibility.

“By combining our scale with DeSpir’s specialised expertise, technology and operational knowledge, we can deliver the precision, security and service levels required for high-stakes freight,” said Michael Castagnetto, President of North American Surface Transportation at CH Robinson. John Carr, Managing Partner at DeSpir Logistics, said the partnership will allow the company to extend its specialised solutions to a broader customer base while maintaining the operational discipline and service quality that established its reputation.

DeSpir generated approximately $62 million in revenue for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025. CH Robinson acquired the company for approximately $75 million in cash, funded through available cash resources. The transaction closed immediately and is expected to be slightly accretive to C.H. Robinson’s results in 2026.

The acquisition reflects CH Robinson’s strategy of targeted growth through investments that expand specialised capabilities and create additional value for customers, carriers and shareholders. With DeSpir’s expertise added to its global platform, C.H. Robinson continues to strengthen its ability to deliver secure, technology-enabled logistics solutions for the world’s most demanding supply chains.
