Meta Platforms and Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions Limited have announced a major expansion of their renewable energy collaboration in India, taking the partnership’s total renewable energy capacity beyond 900 MW. The latest agreements will support the development of 837 MW of new solar and wind energy projects across Rajasthan and Karnataka, further strengthening efforts to accelerate clean energy adoption and sustainable digital infrastructure growth.

The collaboration builds upon an existing relationship between the two organizations and highlights the increasing role of long-term corporate renewable energy procurement in supporting India’s transition toward a low-carbon economy. Under the agreement, CleanMax will develop, own and operate large-scale renewable energy projects while Meta will procure 100 percent of the environmental attributes generated by the facilities.

The new capacity additions are expected to contribute significantly to Meta’s global sustainability objectives, including its commitment to match electricity consumption with clean and renewable energy sources. The projects will also support the company’s broader efforts to address value-chain emissions as demand for digital services and artificial intelligence infrastructure continues to grow.

Kuldeep Jain, Founder and Managing Director of CleanMax, said the partnership reflects the growing convergence between digital infrastructure and sustainable energy. He noted that platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads play an increasingly important role in the global digital economy, and powering such ecosystems with renewable energy is critical for future growth. According to Jain, the collaboration demonstrates how clean energy can serve as the foundation for next-generation technology infrastructure while advancing India’s sustainability ambitions.

Amanda Yang, Head of Clean and Renewable Energy at Meta, stated that the agreements represent meaningful progress toward the company’s renewable energy goals in India. She emphasized that continued collaboration with CleanMax will help bring additional renewable energy capacity onto the grid while supporting the development of a stronger and more resilient clean energy ecosystem.

The announcement further strengthens CleanMax’s position as one of India’s leading renewable energy providers for commercial and industrial customers. The company’s contracted renewable energy portfolio reached 5.7 GW during FY 2025-26, with a significant share of new capacity driven by repeat customers. Today, CleanMax serves hundreds of organizations across sectors including technology, manufacturing, industrial operations, data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

As enterprises continue to pursue decarbonization strategies, partnerships such as this underscore the growing importance of renewable energy in supporting sustainable economic growth. The expanded collaboration between Meta and CleanMax demonstrates how large-scale clean energy investments can simultaneously advance corporate sustainability objectives, strengthen energy infrastructure and contribute to India’s long-term environmental goals.

CleanMax, listed on the NSE and BSE, is India’s largest renewable energy provider for the commercial and industrial sector, with a portfolio of 5.7 GW across India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The company offers a wide range of solutions, including rooftop solar, wind, hybrid systems, and carbon credit services, supporting over 570 corporate customers in their transition to sustainable energy.
