Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) sold 27,595 tractors in the domestic market in August 2026, registering a 5% increase over the 26,201 units sold in August 2025. Total tractor sales, including domestic sales and exports, stood at 29,507 units during the month, compared with 28,117 units in the same month last year. Exports contributed 1,912 tractors to the overall sales during August. The company said the improvement in rainfall and near-normal Kharif sowing have supported rural demand. Government schemes and the upcoming festive season are also expected to provide further support to the rural economy and tractor sales.
Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said the company recorded domestic sales of 27,595 tractors in August, marking a 5% year-on-year growth. “Steady improvement in rainfall has helped near-normal Kharif sowing. Continued support of various government schemes and the upcoming festive season should bolster rural sentiment,” Mr Nakra said. He added that Mahindra sold 1,912 tractors in international markets during the month.
The August performance comes as agricultural activity remains an important driver of tractor demand across rural markets. Better rainfall conditions have supported sowing activity, while government measures are expected to continue supporting farm incomes and rural spending.
The festive period is also an important sales season for the tractor industry, with demand typically supported by agricultural activity, improved rural sentiment and higher spending during the period. Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business is part of the Mahindra Group, which has been operating since 1945.
