Mahindra has introduced the BE 6 SPORTEQ, a new series of its electric SUV that combines performance-focused design, advanced technology and software-based features. The BE 6 SPORTEQ series starts at Rs. 11.45 lakh with Battery as a Service (BaaS), with battery usage priced at Rs 3.75 per kilometre. Deliveries of the new range will begin on August 26, coinciding with Onam.

The new series is available in eight variants and 12 colour options, including four new colours — Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin. The range includes ONE, TWO, THREE, THREE+, FOUR, FE, FE FOUR and Launch Edition variants.

From the TWO variant onwards, the BE 6 SPORTEQ features a three-screen coast-to-coast digital cockpit. Customers looking for the original race-inspired cockpit can choose the Formula E Freedom Edition, which retains the two-screen layout and signature halo design.

The BE 6 SPORTEQ is built around Mahindra’s software-defined vehicle architecture. Its technology platform, MAIA, or Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture, supports six TEQ Suites designed to improve connectivity, entertainment, driving, personalisation and security.

TEQ_Talk uses Google Gemini and supports natural voice-based interaction through 17 specialised AI agents. It provides access to more than 100 vehicle functions and 48 applications covering areas such as vehicle controls, navigation, music and news. TEQ_Play adds entertainment features including karaoke, in-car gaming, private audio, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and other interactive experiences.

TEQ_Drive includes features such as Custom Drive Mode, Drift Mode, Tribe Drive, Revive and Revive SOS. The Formula E Freedom Edition also gets an Acceleration Boost feature. TEQ_Me focuses on personalisation with user profiles and automatic user detection. TEQ_Secure includes Secure360 Pro with live view and audio relay, intrusion alerts, digital key functions and parental controls.

The digital key system supports iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Samsung smartphones as well as NFC key cards. Mahindra said the feature makes it the first Indian automotive OEM to offer Car Connectivity Consortium-compliant digital key functionality across multiple device ecosystems. The TEQ_xting suite allows users to create personalised tailgate messages.

The top-end Launch Edition features a Graphite Storm exterior and Racing Tan leatherette interior. The Formula E Freedom Edition draws inspiration from Mahindra Racing’s Formula E programme and features a more performance-focused design, satin finishes and a Black and Firestorm Orange interior. The Freedom Edition also offers Acceleration Boost, enabling a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 6.44 seconds.

Mahindra said new software and technology features introduced with the SPORTEQ range will also be made available to existing BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S owners through phased over-the-air updates starting January 2027. Availability will depend on the vehicle model and variant.

DrVelusamy R President, Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra, said the new series reflects the changing expectations of EV customers, who increasingly want vehicles that become smarter and more personalised over time. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said the SPORTEQ builds on the BE 6’s design and sporty character while making advanced technology available to a wider customer base.
