Mafatlal Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, has commissioned a 4 MWp captive ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at its manufacturing facility in Nadiad, Gujarat. The project marks another step in the company’s efforts to improve energy efficiency, lower production costs, and strengthen its commitment to sustainable manufacturing.
Developed with an investment of around ₹11 crore, the solar power project is expected to generate nearly 66 lakh kWh of usable electricity every year. The clean energy produced at the plant will meet a significant portion of the facility’s power requirements, helping reduce dependence on conventional energy sources while supporting the company’s long-term sustainability goals.
The commissioning of the solar plant is expected to improve the competitiveness of Mafatlal Industries by reducing energy costs, one of the major components of manufacturing expenditure. By increasing the use of renewable energy, the company also aims to lower its carbon footprint and contribute to environmentally responsible industrial operations.
The project reflects Mafatlal Industries’ continued focus on adopting sustainable technologies that enhance operational efficiency while supporting responsible business practices. The company believes investments in renewable energy will help create long-term value for customers, shareholders, employees, and the communities in which it operates.
The new solar facility forms part of Mafatlal Industries’ broader strategy to modernise its manufacturing operations and build a more resilient and energy-efficient production ecosystem. The initiative aligns with India’s growing emphasis on clean energy adoption and sustainable industrial development.
