Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Heavy Civil Infrastructure business has secured a major contract from Torrent Energy Storage Solutions Pvt Ltd (formerly Torrent PSH 3 Pvt Ltd) for the construction of India’s largest pumped storage project, the 3,000 MW Saidongar-1 Pumped Storage Project, located in Raigad district, Maharashtra.
The project will consist of ten generating units, each with a capacity of 300 MW. L&T’s scope of work includes the design, engineering, and execution of all civil construction and hydromechanical works required for the project.
Once completed, the Saidongar-1 project is expected to play a key role in improving grid stability and strengthening energy availability for Maharashtra and surrounding regions. The contract highlights L&T’s experience and technical capability in delivering large and complex hydroelectric and pumped storage projects.
