Larsen & Toubro’s Hydrocarbon Onshore division has landed a substantial international contract for the development of a Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) plant and associated infrastructure in the Middle East. The deal, classified as an ultra-mega order by the company, was awarded to a consortium led by L&T in partnership with Consolidated Contractors Group SAL (Offshore), based in Greece.
The scope of the project includes the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of a comprehensive gas processing facility. The plant will handle Rich Associated Gas (RAG) sourced from both offshore and onshore fields, and will produce key products including lean sales gas, ethane, propane, butane, and condensate after removing impurities such as hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, and water.
Under the consortium structure, L&T will lead the engineering and procurement efforts, while CCC will oversee construction. The project also covers utilities, offsite infrastructure, and integration with existing installations—making it a complex execution with both greenfield and brownfield elements.
SN Subrahmanyan, Chairman & Managing Director at L&T, said “This order reinforces our standing as a preferred partner for large-scale energy projects. It reflects the trust placed in us to deliver technically demanding infrastructure and highlights our expanding global presence. We are committed to completing this project with the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and efficiency.”
Subramanian Sarma, Deputy Managing Director & President at L&T, added “Beyond the scale, the project involves complex technical requirements and critical interface management, especially in a brownfield environment. It is another step forward in our contribution to energy infrastructure and enhances our relationships with key players in the oil and gas sector.”
L&T’s Hydrocarbon Onshore business is a major EPC player in India’s energy sector, known for delivering integrated solutions across the oil and gas value chain. The division has successfully executed projects spanning refinery expansions, gas processing units, petrochemical complexes, LNG facilities, fertiliser plants, and pipeline infrastructure, both in India and abroad. With this latest order, L&T strengthens its portfolio of international projects and continues to play a central role in the development of energy infrastructure on a global scale.
Larsen & Toubro, a USD 30 billion diversified engineering and infrastructure conglomerate, continues to reinforce its leadership across EPC, manufacturing, and services. With an established global footprint and a focus on high-quality execution, the company remains poised to capitalize on emerging opportunities across its core markets.
