Lord’s Mark Industries Limited is expanding its defence technology business through Brahamastra Defence Techno Products Limited, with a portfolio of indigenous electro-optical and surveillance systems developed in India. After three years of research and development, the company is preparing to explore international markets for its specialised defence products.

Brahamastra’s current portfolio includes three key products: BRAK RT, a long-range laser rangefinder with a day-channel camera; BRAK Alpha, a multipurpose laser rangefinder; and TRC-1, a smart trail camera designed for field surveillance. The wider range includes holographic and reflex sights, telescopic sights, thermal imaging equipment, handheld thermal imagers, day-and-night surveillance systems and anti-drone systems.

The BRAK RT combines laser distance measurement with a day-observation camera. Its stated specifications include a maximum range of 20,000 metres, distance accuracy of up to one metre (1σ) and the ability to detect up to five targets. GPS and orientation sensors provide positional and directional information. The instrument has an IP68 rating for protection against environmental conditions.

BRAK Alpha is designed for distance measurement, target detection and orientation data. It has a stated operating range of 10 to 5,000 metres, accuracy of up to 0.5 metres (1σ) and the capacity to detect up to five targets. GPS, azimuth measurement and inclination sensors support its field applications.

The TRC-1 Smart Trail Camera uses motion-triggered imaging for day-and-night surveillance. Its specifications include still-image resolution of 5 megapixels or higher, 1080p video, a field of view of at least 120 degrees and invisible infrared illumination up to 10 metres. Developed and manufactured in Navi Mumbai, the system includes role-based access permissions and audit records. Video is intended to remain stored on the camera rather than being centrally held by the management system.

Dr Sachidanand Upadhyay, Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lord’s Mark Industries, said the company began investing in indigenous defence technology three years ago, with the aim of using Indian engineering and research capabilities to develop products for domestic and international markets. He said Brahamastra’s portfolio would support the company’s plans to build specialised defence technology capabilities in India.

The company is looking at opportunities in a market supported by rising requirements for night operations, border surveillance and target detection. According to MarketsandMarkets, India’s military electro-optics and infrared market is projected to grow from US$1.19 billion in 2026 to US$1.78 billion by 2030, at a compound annual growth rate of 10.4%. Mordor Intelligence estimates that the global military electro-optical and infrared systems market will increase from US$9.09 billion in 2025 to US$10.77 billion by 2031.

Lord’s Mark plans to pursue international partnerships and export opportunities, subject to regulatory approvals, technical qualifications and procurement requirements. Its investment in Brahamastra forms part of a longer-term strategy focused on indigenous research, product development and defence manufacturing.
