Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) and Google Public Sector have entered a strategic alliance to bring Google’s generative AI capabilities, including Gemini models, into Lockheed Martin’s secure, on-premise AI Factory environment. The collaboration aims to accelerate innovation and operational efficiency across defense, aerospace, and cybersecurity programs—while maintaining the strict data protection, mission assurance, and security standards vital to national security operations.

Through this partnership, Google’s AI stack will operate within Lockheed Martin’s isolated and air-gapped environments, allowing teams across the enterprise to use AI tools for faster, data-driven decision-making. The integration will empower engineers and analysts to apply advanced AI to large-scale challenges across multiple domains while ensuring all work remains within protected infrastructure.

The initiative is designed to strengthen multiple mission areas by harnessing advanced data and AI capabilities. One key focus is accelerated data intelligence, which involves processing and connecting complex, multimodal datasets to reveal patterns, anomalies, and mission-critical insights almost instantaneously. This will enable faster, more informed decision-making across strategic operations.

Another core area of impact is enhanced research and development workflows. By integrating intelligent automation and data-driven modeling, the initiative will streamline design processes and material discovery, significantly shortening development cycles and fostering rapid technology innovation and iteration.

Additionally, the program will drive smarter logistics through AI-powered optimization tools. These solutions will refine global supply chain coordination, improve resource allocation, and ensure greater operational efficiency, ultimately strengthening the organization’s ability to respond swiftly to dynamic challenges.

“Partnering with Google Public Sector to bring Gemini into our secured environments reflects our commitment to advancing trusted, next-generation AI capabilities for defense and national missions,” said Greg Forrest, Vice President, AI Foundations and Commercialization, Lockheed Martin. “This collaboration provides our teams with powerful and secure tools to accelerate innovation and strengthen mission outcomes.”

In the first deployment phase, Google’s generative AI will be implemented in Lockheed Martin’s unclassified on-premise infrastructure using Google Distributed Cloud, giving employees access to Gemini-based applications and development tools within the organization’s protected digital ecosystem.

“Our partnership with Lockheed Martin highlights a shared vision—to responsibly harness the strength of generative AI for critical government and defense needs,” said Jim Kelly, Vice President, Federal, Google Public Sector. “Together, we are enabling secure, scalable AI adoption while upholding the highest levels of data governance and operational integrity.”
