Leeco Steel, North America’s largest steel plate supplier, has announced the promotion of Andy Polka to Vice President of Operations, effective June 1, 2026. As part of his new responsibilities, Mr Polka will also join the company’s executive leadership team, further strengthening Leeco’s operational leadership as it continues to expand its market presence and enhance customer service capabilities.
The appointment reflects Leeco Steel’s commitment to developing leadership talent from within the organization and recognizes Mr Polka’s extensive contributions to the company over the past decade. Throughout his career at Leeco, he has demonstrated a strong ability to improve operational performance, drive process efficiency and support strategic growth initiatives across multiple business functions.
Mr Polka began his journey with Leeco Steel in 2011 as a Sales Representative in the company’s Oshkosh office. Over the years, he progressed through a variety of leadership positions in sales and operations, gaining broad experience across different regions and business units. His career path included management roles in Houston and Fort Worth, where he played an important role in strengthening customer relationships and expanding business opportunities.
In 2023, Mr Polka relocated to Leeco’s corporate headquarters in Illinois to assume the position of Director of Processing. In that role, he focused on enhancing production capabilities, improving operational workflows and supporting investments in processing infrastructure. His efforts helped align operational activities with customer requirements while strengthening overall efficiency.
Most recently, as Director of Operations, Mr Polka oversaw key aspects of the company’s production and service network. His leadership contributed to process improvements, operational consistency and the continued advancement of lean manufacturing practices across the organization.
According to company leadership, Mr Polka’s combination of industry expertise, operational insight and deep understanding of Leeco’s business model makes him uniquely qualified to lead the next phase of operational development. His appointment comes at a time when the company continues to invest in strengthening its supply chain capabilities, processing operations and customer-focused service offerings.
As Vice President of Operations, Mr Polka will oversee initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, optimizing performance and supporting sustainable growth across Leeco’s expanding footprint. He will work closely with executive leadership to align operational priorities with the company’s long-term strategic objectives.
