Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited (KFIL) reported continued growth in its standalone financial performance for Q2 FY27, supported by higher sales volumes and improved capacity utilisation across its manufacturing operations. Revenue for the quarter increased 17% year-on-year to ₹2,046.7 crore, while EBITDA before exceptional items rose 4% to ₹223 crore. Profit before tax after exceptional items grew 15% to ₹137.8 crore.

The quarter saw the company achieve two significant production and sales milestones. Steel sales volume reached a record 26,606 MT, while gross casting sales crossed 50,000 MT for the first time. These volumes reflect the contribution of improved capacity utilisation and the company’s manufacturing capabilities across its product segments.

For the first half of FY27, revenue increased 11% to ₹3,818.2 crore from ₹3,453.4 crore in H1 FY26. EBITDA grew 2% to ₹438.7 crore, with the EBITDA margin at 11.5% compared with 12.5% in the previous year. PBT stood at ₹242.9 crore, while PAT was ₹179.9 crore. The corresponding previous-year PAT was ₹324 crore.

On a consolidated basis, Q2 FY27 revenue was ₹2,046.7 crore, up 17% year-on-year. EBITDA before exceptional items increased 4% to ₹222.98 crore, and PBT rose 15% to ₹137.8 crore. Consolidated PAT stood at ₹97.5 crore, up 10%. For H1 FY27, consolidated revenue reached ₹3,818.2 crore, while EBITDA was ₹438.7 crore and PAT stood at ₹179.9 crore. The company noted that coking coal price increases and rupee depreciation exerted pressure on margins during the quarter. Proactive cost management measures helped protect profitability, while higher volumes supported overall performance.

RV Gumaste, Managing Director, KFIL, said the company remained focused on capacity utilisation, cost control and expansion. He noted that favourable market demand was encouraging investments in steel and casting capacities. The company also plans to leverage its newly commissioned solar energy capacity and key expansion projects to improve cost competitiveness.

KFIL’s manufacturing operations span pig iron, castings, steel and seamless tubes. Its facilities are equipped to produce grey iron castings weighing up to 1,000 kg, while its 3D printing capabilities support new product development and faster capacity ramp-ups. The company also supplies fully machined castings and operates a coke oven facility with waste-heat recovery power generation.

The merger of Oliver Engineering Private Limited and Adicca Energy Solutions Private Limited has further expanded KFIL’s business portfolio. Through ISMT, the company now has a presence in seamless tubes and alloy steel, including bearing-quality and degassed steels used in critical applications.

The company stated that previous-year financial figures have been restated following the mergers. The recognition of a deferred tax asset on the appointed date of April 1, 2025, under the merger scheme has also affected the tax figures reported across previous quarters and the current reporting period.
