JTL Industries Limited has announced that its subsidiary, JTL Engineering Limited, will invest approximately ₹15 crore to expand its narrow-width hot-rolled (HR) coil manufacturing capacity. The expansion will double the subsidiary’s monthly HR coil production capacity from 5,000 metric tonnes to 10,000 metric tonnes. The project is expected to be commissioned during the fourth quarter of FY2027.
The planned investment will also increase JTL Engineering’s ability to manufacture wider narrow-width HR coils. The maximum coil width will rise from the existing 9 inches, or 228.6 mm, to 11 inches, or 279.4 mm. The expanded capability is expected to enable the company to manufacture a wider range of HR coil specifications and cater to additional customer requirements across industrial and infrastructure applications.
Commenting on the expansion, Madan Mohan, Managing Director, JTL Industries Limited, said, “The proposed expansion reflects our focus on strengthening JTL Engineering Limited’s manufacturing capabilities and expanding the range of products that we can offer. The additional capacity and wider coil capability will enable us to cater to a broader range of product specifications and customer requirements.”
JTL Engineering uses sponge iron and steel scrap as key raw materials in its manufacturing process. The use of steel scrap supports material recovery and recycling while contributing to a more circular manufacturing approach. The capacity expansion is part of JTL Industries’ broader strategy to strengthen its manufacturing base and increase its ability to serve changing market requirements. The company manufactures structural steel tubes and pipes and operates facilities across several Indian states.
JTL Industries has manufacturing operations in Punjab, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh through its own facilities and subsidiaries. Its cumulative pipe manufacturing capacity stands at approximately 936,000 MTPA, including around 300,000 MTPA of backward-integrated capacity.
The company’s product portfolio includes DFT structural pipes, galvanized iron pipes, MS black pipes, hollow sections, solar structures, HR coils and phosphorous bronze, copper and brass alloys. These products serve a range of industrial, construction and infrastructure applications.
JTL Industries is also a recognised Three Star Export House, supporting its presence in international markets. The proposed investment in JTL Engineering is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the HR coil segment while improving its ability to manufacture products in additional widths. The increase in monthly capacity from 5,000 MT to 10,000 MT will provide greater production flexibility and support future business opportunities.
The project will also complement JTL Industries’ existing manufacturing and backward-integration capabilities. By increasing capacity and expanding product specifications, the company aims to improve its ability to respond to customer demand while making better use of its manufacturing infrastructure. With the commissioning targeted for Q4 FY27, JTL Engineering will continue to focus on expanding its product range, improving manufacturing efficiency and supporting the growing requirements of India’s steel, construction and infrastructure sectors.
