Deere & Company, a global leader in technology solutions for agriculture, construction, and forestry, hosted its Power & Technology Show in India, unveiling the new 5M Series 5130M (130 HP) tractor alongside several advanced farming technologies. The event highlighted the company’s continued focus on precision agriculture, smart connectivity, and sustainable farming practices.
For more than 27 years in India, John Deere has introduced advanced agricultural solutions designed to enhance farm productivity while promoting responsible resource use. The company’s initiatives have focused on improving crop yields while supporting soil conservation, efficient water management, and environmentally responsible farming practices.
Speaking at the event, Rajesh Sinha, Managing Director and Country Manager, John Deere India, and Strategic Advisor to the President, Construction & Forestry Worldwide, emphasized the company’s long-term technology roadmap.
“John Deere’s strategy is centered on integrating precision agriculture with digital technologies and connected machines. These innovations allow farmers to increase productivity while optimizing resources. Our recently introduced solutions are aimed at improving field operations, reducing input costs, and supporting sustainable crop management,” Mr Sinha said.
He also highlighted the importance of India in John Deere’s global ecosystem. Beyond manufacturing, the company’s operations in the country include research and development, engineering, global IT services, supply chain management, and road construction technologies, making India a key contributor to the organization’s worldwide operations and innovation network. At the Power & Technology Show, John Deere presented Power & Technology 7.0, a set of innovations aimed at aligning modern agricultural machinery with evolving agronomic practices.
According to Ramakant Garg, Director – Sales & Marketing, John Deere India, advanced equipment and modern farming techniques must evolve together. “Farm technologies and agronomic practices are increasingly interconnected. Our focus is to ensure that both move forward together to support the future of agriculture. Power & Technology 7.0 represents another step toward equipping farmers with intelligent tools that enhance productivity and efficiency,” Mr Garg said.
At the event, John Deere introduced several technology-driven features designed to improve operational efficiency and precision in farming. Among the key highlights was the Front Hitch and Front PTO application on the 5130M (130 HP) tractor, which enables farmers to operate multiple implements simultaneously. This capability helps improve productivity in the field by allowing more work to be completed in a single pass.
Another important innovation showcased was the 5E AutoTrac™ Straight-Row Guidance System. This technology assists tractor operators in maintaining accurate and consistent alignment while working in the field. By improving precision during operations such as planting, spraying, or tillage, the system helps reduce overlaps and missed areas, ultimately contributing to better input management.
The company also presented GreenSystem™ Link, a factory-installed connectivity solution that provides real-time insights into machine performance. Through this system, farmers and fleet managers can monitor equipment activity, track operational data, and make informed decisions based on machine usage and field conditions.
In addition, John Deere highlighted the introduction of 100 percent radial tires on the 5405 and 5075E tractors. Radial tires are designed to enhance traction and provide improved stability during field operations while also reducing soil compaction, helping maintain soil structure and supporting sustainable farming practices. The newly launched 5130M tractor is part of John Deere’s premium 5M series and is designed to support high-power applications, multi-implement compatibility, and improved operational efficiency in demanding farming conditions.
John Deere’s approach in India has been to combine global engineering expertise with solutions tailored to local agricultural environments. By adapting technologies to suit diverse farming conditions across the country, the company has expanded its domestic presence while also exporting products manufactured in India to over 110 countries worldwide.
Mukul Varshney, Region 1 Government Affairs Director, highlighted the role of collaboration in achieving long-term sustainability goals. “The Government of India has set ambitious sustainability targets for 2047. Companies like John Deere can contribute meaningfully through innovation, responsible manufacturing, and partnerships. The ecosystem in India encourages collaboration among industry, academic institutions, and research organizations. Such partnerships will help Indian farmers strengthen their global competitiveness in the years ahead,” Mr Varshney said. The Power & Technology Show also served as a platform to engage farmers, dealers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers on the future of smart farming and agricultural mechanization.
Founded nearly two centuries ago, Deere & Company began with the invention of a steel plow that transformed farming practices. Today, the company develops technology-driven equipment and services for agriculture, construction, forestry, turf management, and power systems. Through innovation in machinery, digital solutions, and connectivity, John Deere continues to support the production of food, fiber, fuel, and infrastructure that sustain communities around the world.
