Infosys and Formula E have jointly announced the launch of an AI-powered Race Centre, a new digital platform designed to enhance how fans experience all-electric motorsport. Powered by Infosys Topaz, the platform integrates artificial intelligence, real-time data and interactive features to deliver a more immersive and engaging race-day experience.
Now in its second year as Formula E’s Official Digital Innovation Partner, Infosys is expanding its role from providing analytics to creating deeper fan engagement. The Race Centre serves as a unified hub that combines live race data, AI-generated insights and interactive content, enabling fans to follow every aspect of a race in real time.
The platform introduces a generative AI-based commentary engine that delivers contextual race narration as events unfold. It also features interactive elements such as podium predictions and fan voting for the “Driver of the Race,” encouraging greater participation throughout practice sessions, qualifying rounds and race day.
Additional capabilities include real-time tracking of PIT BOOST and ATTACK MODE strategies, allowing fans to better understand how these elements influence race outcomes. A dedicated driver event tracker provides a timeline of key moments such as overtakes and tactical decisions, offering a more detailed view of individual performances.
At the core of the Race Centre is an advanced data orchestration system that processes over 1.5 million data points per race. This information is translated into visual insights, including race positions and car movements displayed through a dynamic 2D track interface. The platform also incorporates weather updates, race control information and explainer content to provide a comprehensive viewing experience.
By bringing together multiple layers of data and storytelling, the Race Centre supports fans throughout the entire racing cycle, from pre-race build-up to post-race analysis. It also enables Formula E to connect more effectively with younger, digitally engaged audiences by offering personalized and interactive content.
The initiative reflects a broader effort to use technology to make motorsport more accessible and engaging. With sustainability at its core, Formula E continues to position itself as a forward-looking championship that combines innovation with environmental responsibility. Formula E is the world’s first all-electric FIA World Championship and a net-zero carbon sport, showcasing high-performance racing in major cities worldwide while promoting electric mobility.
