Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL), India’s largest city gas distribution company, has entered into a strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia–based MASAH Construction Company to jointly develop and operate natural gas distribution networks in industrial cities across the Kingdom. This marks IGL’s first international expansion as part of its broader ambition to grow globally and promote cleaner energy solutions. The agreement was formalised in the presence of senior representatives from Saudi Arabia’s Investment Promotion Authority, the Federation of Saudi Chambers, and top leadership from both companies.

Under the collaboration, IGL will offer technical expertise in planning and operating natural gas networks, while MASAH will bring its strengths in regulatory processes, engineering, project execution, and local stakeholder engagement. IGL currently manages an extensive network of more than 28,000 km of pipelines, supplies CNG to over 2.1 million vehicles through more than 950 stations, and provides piped natural gas to over three million households across several Indian cities. MASAH, headquartered in Riyadh, is a top-tier contractor handling major infrastructure projects for entities such as Aramco, the Ministry of Defence and the Public Investment Fund.

The partnership is expected to foster cross-border knowledge exchange and reinforces India’s growing role in advancing clean energy worldwide. Both companies aim to deliver operational excellence, sustainable growth, and capacity building in line with shared goals for a greener future.

IGL Managing Director Kamal Kishore Chatiwal called the alliance a key milestone in the company’s overseas journey, noting that it reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and strategic expansion. MASAH Chairman Mohammed Abdul Nayeem said the partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and brings together MASAH’s infrastructure capabilities with IGL’s experience in city gas network design and operations.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is one of India’s leading natural gas distribution companies, primarily serving the National Capital Region.
