Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced its financial results for the first quarter of FY27, reporting steady business performance despite production challenges and a difficult global operating environment. The company’s Board of Directors approved the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

For the first quarter of FY27, Hyundai Motor India recorded revenue of ₹16,334.6 crore, while profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹888.6 crore. The company said its performance during the quarter reflected the impact of temporary production disruptions and external market challenges, while underlying customer demand remained encouraging.

The quarter also marked a major milestone for Hyundai Motor India as the company celebrated 30 years of operations in India, highlighting three decades of growth, customer trust and contribution to the country’s automotive industry. Hyundai reported strong demand for its recently launched all-new Venue, which achieved its highest-ever quarterly domestic sales since launch. The company also continued to witness growing customer preference for factory-fitted CNG vehicles. CNG models contributed 18% of total sales during the quarter, with the Aura recording its highest-ever CNG contribution of 95% and the Exter reaching a record 32%.

The company also strengthened its presence in rural markets during the quarter. Rural sales contribution touched an all-time high of 26%, reflecting Hyundai’s expanding reach beyond urban centres and increasing acceptance of its product portfolio across the country.

Despite these positive developments, Hyundai’s domestic volume growth was limited to 5.4% year-on-year due to temporary production disruptions during the quarter. Export volumes were also affected by the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which impacted regional demand and logistics.

Commenting on the performance, Tarun Garg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited, said the first quarter was challenging as multiple external factors affected both sales volumes and profitability. He noted that production has now returned to normal levels, which is expected to support stronger performance in the coming quarters. He added that healthy customer demand, a robust product pipeline and improved manufacturing operations are likely to drive business recovery from the second quarter onward in both domestic and export markets.

Hyundai remains optimistic about its outlook for the remainder of FY27 and continues to target 8% to 10% year-on-year volume growth in both domestic and export markets. The company has also reaffirmed its guidance of achieving an EBITDA margin of 11% to 14% during the financial year.

With production stabilised, expanding demand for CNG vehicles, increasing rural market penetration and new product launches planned in the coming months, Hyundai Motor India expects to strengthen its market position and sustain growth across key business segments. The company said it remains focused on delivering innovative mobility solutions, enhancing customer experience and maintaining operational excellence as it enters its fourth decade of operations in India.
