Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has unveiled a new portfolio of supercomputing innovations designed to simplify high-performance computing (HPC) environments and support the growing convergence of artificial intelligence (AI), HPC and quantum computing. The latest offerings include new programming software, enhanced multi-tenant networking and storage capabilities, and expanded infrastructure retirement services, providing enterprises and research organizations with a more secure and streamlined supercomputing ecosystem.
At the core of the announcement is the launch of HPE Supercomputing Programming Software, which is now available for HPE ProLiant Compute servers for the first time. The expansion enables organizations to use a consistent programming environment across HPE supercomputing and enterprise server platforms, reducing deployment complexity and improving software management for AI, analytics and HPC workloads.
The software has been developed to simplify multi-vendor computing environments by integrating commercial, open-source and HPE development tools into a pre-validated programming framework. It also delivers software updates through containerized environments, allowing customers to adopt new programming tools without disrupting existing applications or rebuilding software stacks. In addition, HPE will provide first-line technical support across multi-vendor environments, reducing the operational burden on enterprise IT teams.
As AI adoption accelerates, governments, national laboratories and enterprises are increasingly investing in sovereign AI capabilities that require secure and scalable computing infrastructure. To address these requirements, HPE has expanded its portfolio with new multi-tenant networking and storage technologies designed for secure separation of users and workloads across large-scale AI and HPC environments.
The company has introduced enhanced multi-tenancy capabilities for HPE Slingshot 400 networking software, enabling secure network segmentation and access controls that prevent unauthorized traffic between different user groups. Existing Slingshot 400 customers will also be able to adopt these new capabilities through software upgrades.
HPE has also enhanced its HPE Cray Supercomputing Storage Systems E2000 with new graphical management tools and application programming interfaces (APIs) that simplify storage administration in multi-tenant environments. The improvements enable automated provisioning, more intuitive management and greater operational efficiency for organizations managing large-scale AI research infrastructure.
Commenting on the announcement, Fumiki Negishi, Vice President and General Manager, HPC & AI APJ GTM Division at HPE, said sovereign AI initiatives are gaining momentum across the Asia-Pacific region as governments and enterprises seek greater control over their AI capabilities. He noted that HPE’s latest innovations provide customers with a secure, simplified and consistent computing foundation that supports AI development throughout the entire infrastructure lifecycle.
In addition to software and infrastructure enhancements, HPE Financial Services has introduced new retirement services for air-cooled HPC and AI servers. The expanded offering provides secure decommissioning, data sanitization, system diagnostics, configuration reset, workload validation and regulatory compliance support, helping organizations retire advanced computing systems safely while protecting sensitive information.
HPE’s Technology Renewal Centers processed large volumes of enterprise infrastructure in 2025, with 85 percent of retired servers refurbished for continued use and approximately 1.7 exabytes of customer data securely erased. The new retirement capabilities further strengthen HPE’s end-to-end lifecycle services, enabling organizations to manage supercomputing infrastructure from deployment through responsible retirement.
With these latest innovations, HPE continues to expand its portfolio of AI and supercomputing solutions, helping enterprises, research institutions and public sector organizations accelerate scientific discovery, strengthen sovereign AI capabilities and simplify the management of increasingly complex computing environments.
